There is something deeply appealing about prodigious talent. Its pretty cool. And it was recognized pretty early that Jimmy Edgar had “it.” He was picked up by important labels like Warp, Poker Flat, Isophlux and Merck when he was still in his teens. In electronic music years, he’s been around the block.

This former Detroit native retains his old city’s trademark, both musically and aesthetically – cold and artificial, yet soulful electro. Through various projects and releases, most recently with his disco project “Her Bad Habit” on London’s Citinite, Jimmy is revealing his various layers.

Having relocated to NYC in 2007, these days he finds his inspirations from “the seedy, melancholic darkside of Manhattan streets after midnight.”

I first heard about Christopher Just when he made the Chicago house styled jacking track called “House” on Vienna’s Cheap Records. I rocked that vinyl many times. One could probably write an essay about him because his discography is very long and varied. His tracks evoke a sense of power and forcefulness as required by the techno dancefloor while some how retaining a sense of humor and adventurousness.

I am a singer-producer-student and ex-zinester (Repellent Magazine) from New York City. These days you can find me in Vienna, Austria.

G.rizo is my main alias for funky electro and hip hop. I sing it, write the lyrics and most recently, produce the music. I am working on my debut album right now and also finishing up my studies. You can check out some of my releases at Codek Records and International DJ Gigolos.

I have been DJ-ing and making parties since 2001. Its my most important music school and favorite past time. Its greatly satisfying and addictive. I have a lot of different genre interests but mostly I am into electro, disco, techno and a little bit of house. I tend to go through phases of interest. Right now I am in an electro phase.

Here is a DJ mix I made recently called “Wanna Dance?” I wanted it to be funky(licious) and up to date but also be somehow go beyond the now. I took a few liberties like mashing up tracks, adding samples and singing along. I hope that it can stand on its own in a few years. I made it on Ableton Live;-)
